On the margins of the EU Community of Practice on Peace Mediation, MWMN and WMC mediator Magda Zenon participated in a restricted civil society meeting with Kaja Kallas, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, representing regional women mediator networks. In her intervention, Magda highlighted the growing gap between evolving conflict dynamics and existing peace processes, stressing the need to institutionalise stronger linkages between the EU and women mediator networks to connect policy-making with realities on the ground. She underlined the added value of women mediators’ local leadership, multi-level mediation experience and storytelling practices as essential components of prevention, negotiation and the sustainability of peace processes and ceasefires.
