The experience of MWMN was featured, among others, at the Women Economic Forum for the Mediterranean, which took place in Palermo from 30 October to 1 November under the patronage of the First Lady of Italy, Mrs. Laura Mattarella. Part of the global Women Economic Forum (WEF) platform — which fosters conversations, community, connections and collaborations among women worldwide — the event brought together leaders, experts and practitioners committed to advancing women’s leadership and empowerment across the region.
The Head of the MWMN Secretariat, Loredana Teodorescu, addressed the opening plenary session titled “Pioneering Women: Redefining Contemporary Leadership.” Her intervention highlighted the crucial role women play in peacebuilding and international affairs. Hind Kabawat, MWMN mediator and Syrian Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, also contributed to the Forum by joining online to share insights on women’s leadership in complex political environments.
The experience of MWMN was further showcased at the Global Leadership by Women Summit, held on 27 November 2025 in Marseille, France, where Loredana Teodorescu participated in discussions on the future of inclusive global leadership in the face of today’s major upheavals. The event reflected on how today’s decision-makers can foster more balanced, visionary and representative global governance, and how diplomacy, conflict prevention and international cooperation can be strengthened by fully recognising women’s leadership in decision-making processes for lasting peace and security.
