At the end of September 2025, the Mediterranean Women Mediators Network (MWMN), in cooperation with Together We Build It, promoted an exchange meeting in Rome, Italy, bringing together a diverse delegation of Libyan women leaders, mediators and civil society representatives.

<p”>The initiative formed part of a women- and youth-led Track 1.5 peace effort aimed at fostering dialogue across political and social divides in Libya, amplifying women’s collective voices and strengthening gender-responsive and inclusive approaches to peace and political processes.
During the meetings, participants shared first-hand perspectives on the political and security dynamics on the ground, discussed barriers to women’s meaningful participation, and put forward concrete recommendations to advance inclusive peace and sustainable political solutions in Libya.

The exchange also included meetings with Italian institutions, experts and stakeholders, contributing to a deeper understanding of the Libyan context enriched by the lived experiences and leadership of Libyan women.
