In the first months of 2023, the MWMN Kosovo Antenna in collaboration with the NGO She Solutions, designed and produced a short documentary on women’s participation in the security sector in Kosovo, which was launched on 1st May!
The clip analyzes the obstacles that prevent women from joining the Police and the Security Force (KSF) and provides guidance to promote women’s participation, highlighting how more women in the security sector would benefit society as a whole. The video presents virtuous cases of women who build successful careers in the security sector in Kosovo, such as Atifete Jahjaga, President of Kosovo between 2011 and 2016, Saranda Bogujevci, Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Halime Morina-Lupci, Head of the Unit for Human Rights and Gender Equality in the Kosovo Ministry of Defense, and many others.
The documentary was supported by the MWMN, funded and promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The impact of our documentary has been substantial, garnering the attention of the majority of television stations in Kosovo and a notable presence on numerous online portals throughout the country. Notably, TV 21 broadcasted the documentary in its entirety on May 2, 2023, and a member of the Antenna, Antigona Baxhaku, was invited as guest speaker to discuss this project on two television programs, namely ATV’s morning show and TeVe1’s afternoon program.
