Also as part of WPS Week 2023, on 24 October 2023, the Mediterranean Women Mediators Network (MWMN) promoted the High Level Panel “Role of Women Mediators in Negotiating Ceasefires and Security Arrangements”, together with the Global Alliance of Regional Women Mediator Networks and its six regional networks.
For the MWMN, the mediator Vesna Škare Ožbolt, former Croatian Minister of Justice and negotiator, brought her experience in the Balkans.
During the event, it was highlighted how, investing in women peacemakers, amplifying their voices and strengthening their leadership are key actions to make peace processes, as well as cease-fire negotiations, truly inclusive and effective.
